“Joseph Ambrose, an 86-year-old World War I veteran, attends the dedication day parade for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in 1982. He is holding the flag that covered the casket of his son, who was killed in the Korean War.”
While writing up a post on Veterans Day history I came across this photo and decided against it. This photo of Joseph Ambrose is just too powerful and potent to need any other additional explanation. I want to thank all the United States armed forces veterans for their service. Even though “thank you” seems so insufficient for everything you’ve done, I cannot find any other words that begin to convey my gratitude, so THANK YOU to every veteran past and present.
