President Ulysses S. Grant was once fined $20 for speeding and reckless driving with his horse and buggy. When he was stopped on a Washington D.C. road, it has been said that the police officer was initially hesitant to give the famous man a citation. Grant reportedly told the officer, “Do your duty, my good man.”
